Patrik SINKEWITZ tested positive for the use of testosterone during an out-of-competition control in the Pyrenees on June 8, 2007.
He was suspended for 1 year by the German federation, until July 17, 2008.
In March 2011 Sinkewitz was provisionally suspended again, after a positive test on hGh in the GP Lugano on 27 February.
After an appeal, he was acquitted and free to race again from June 2012. In February 2014, the CAS decided to uphold te appeal.
As a result, Sinkewitz was suspended by the UCI for 8 years, until 16 August 2020.
In violation of his suspension Sinkewitz participated in July 2017 in a race in Italy,
and the UCI extended his suspension with an additional 4 years, until 16 August 2024.
