David GARBELLI tested positive for the use of triamcinolone acetonide and salbutamol after the 1st stage of the Giro Ciclistico d'Italia 2006, on 9 June. He was disqualified from the race results and got an official warning.
In October 2006, Garbelli was caught cheating during a doping control, as he used a team mate to undergo the control. Garbelli was suspended by the Italian federation for 4 years, until 27 November 2011.
