Mathias FLUCKIGER tested positive for Zeranol, a growth stimulant used in raising cattle, after the Swiss MTB championships on 5 June 2022. On 18 August 2022 he was provisionally suspended by Swiss Sports Integrity, but this suspension was lifted by the Swiss Olympic Disciplinary Committee on 17 December 2022. The quantity of Zeranol in the sample was considered well below the levels to be interpreted as intentional doping.
