Complete Point Scales in 2004
In 2005 the ProTour started and, as a consequence, the UCI-ranking disappeared. From this moment on we had to
make some decisions concerning the point scales ourselfs. Our two "Golden Rules" in 2005 and later:
- We use the categories the UCI gives us. When the UCI revalues a race
to a higher or lower category, we do that too.
- We use the old point scales where we can. When we make new point tables, we try to translate the proportions between the ProTour points as good as
possible.

- Continental championships: same points as NC3 & NCT3
Complete Point Scales in 2005
Changes:
More points in ProTour races (±
10% more) to express the importance of those races better. Because of the
changes in 2005, the continental races were a little bit overvalued.
- Tour de France: 600 - 450 - 360 - ... (Stage: 80)
® New scales, same proportions
- Giro & Vuelta: 500 - 375 - 300 - ... (Stage: 70)
® 2005 scales for Tour de France
- 2.PT: 240 - 180 - 145 - ... (Stage: 40)
® New scales, same proportions
- 1.PT1: 275 - 180 - 145 - ...
® New scales, new proportions (slower decrease)
® Except for winner, same points as 2.PT
- 1.PT2: 220 - 132 - 105 - ...
® New scales, same proportions
Other changes:
Continental Championships & World Championships U23: RR: 40 - 24 - 19 - ...,
TT: 20 - 12 - 9 - ...
Complete Point Scales in 2006
Changes:
- Small adjustment to the points for numbers 3 to 10 in the GT's, to
obtain a "degressive decrease".
® For example: Giro&Vuelta:
500 – 375 – 300 – 275 – 250 => 500 –375 – 315 – 270 - 245
- Nations Cup:
2.NC: 50 - 38 - 30 - ... (Stage: 8)
1.NC: 30 - 20 - 16 - ...
- World Championships B-Countries: same as Continental Championships
and World Championships U23
Complete Point Scales in 2007
In 2008 the organizers of the 3 GT's leave the UCI. Consequently, many big races aren't on the UCI calendar anymore. Our solution:
- We classify those races as "Ex-ProTour" races.
- We use the same point scales as in 2007 for those races.
